Blairchroisk Cottage is located in Highland Perthshire overlooking the stunning Tay Valley.
The area is ideal for walking, fishing, golf, white water rafting, touring or just relaxing. Visitors can enjoy the rich and varied wildlife, with a wide variety of birds, red squirrels, pine martins and roe and red deer.
Pitlochry, made famous by Queen Victoria's visit in 1842, is only five miles away with the excellent Festival Theatre where you can watch popular plays throughout the year. The town is the hub of activity and has lovely independent shops, cafes and pubs (some with traditional music nights) and some excellent restaurants. Nearby Blair Castle and Gardens are definitely worth a visit - you can easily spend the day there exploring - and don't miss the Queen's View over down Loch Tummel (an iconic photo opportunity!) Other attractions include two distilleries within five miles (Bell's Blair Athol Distillery and Eradour Distillery, which is Scotland's smallest distillery) and the Highland Chocolatier is in nearby Aberfeldy. The beautiful historic town of Dunkeld with its ancient cathedral, is nine miles away and well worth exploring. For the best Scottish retail therapy head to the House of Bruar, just 20 minutes away. It has great clothing, food, a gallery, fishing shop and café among its many departments - it's not known as the Harrods of the North for nothing! It also has arguably the best fish and chips for miles around.
For the more adventurous, Nae Limits outdoor activity centre is less than two miles away. Here you can try white water rafting, quad biking, canyoning and many other water and land adventure activities. Don't miss Pitlochry Power Station and Dam and watch the salmon trying to leap over the salmon ladder to Loch Faskally. Hill walking and climbing enthusiasts have plenty of choice in the area - Ben Vrackie and Schiehallion as well as lots of low level walking (the Tay Forest Park has some beautiful woodland walks). There's a lot going on in Pitlochry throughout the year: come and see The Enchanted Forest, Blair Horse Trials, Pitlochry Highland Games to name just a few.
So many activities and attractions are on offer near this comfortable cottage; whether you are keen to explore and try new adventures or to simply relax and recharge your batteries then Blairchroisk Cottage is the perfect choice!
